Terry Fox has inspired Canadians for more than 40 years through his courage, determination, perseverance, and leadership. His Marathon of Hope showed us that one person, with a big enough goal and the determination to keep going, can inspire an entire nation. 

This year, RTA Ravens are challenged again to reflect on Terry’s example and think about how we can show these same qualities in our own lives. Through our Terry Fox challenge, we will focus on perseverance, resilience, courage, and leadership—and how small actions can make a big difference. 

On Monday, October 5, 2026, we will begin our challenge to collectively run 5 373 km, the distance Terry covered during his Marathon of Hope. Students and staff are encouraged to run during their PE period and see how far we can go together. Our ultimate goal is to reach 7 821 km—the entire length of the Trans-Canada Highway! 

Last year, the RTA Ravens ran an incredible 2 667.6 km. Can we beat last year’s distance, reach Terry’s 5 373 km, and keep going even further? 

Let’s rise to the challenge, RTA Ravens, and keep Terry’s legacy moving forward! 

This year, we are only collecting online donations.  Please do not send cash into the school.

RTA: Wall of Fame

We are excited to share an awesome opportunity to celebrate your child on our “RTA WALL OF FAME”! Our hope is to continue building community, belonging, and pride in our students by RECOGNIZING (“R”) their TALENTS (“T”) and ACHIEVEMENTS (“A”) outside of their school experience.

This will be a chance for your child to bring in items of celebration they have achieved within 2024 - current year. These items may include: 

1. Medals, ribbons, or small trophies of achievement (music, community sports, etc.)
2. Photo(s) of your child in action or celebrating an accomplishment
3. Artwork from home
4. Creative literature (poems, songs, etc.)
5. Any other items you can think of to celebrate your child’s effort and accomplishments!

Each grade will have an allotted time to highlight items of celebration. All items will be displayed in an enclosed display case in our hallway. Items will be returned to your child after their scheduled month. 

Grade 5 – September - November,

Grade 6 – December – mid February 

Grade 7 – Mid February - March 

Grade 8 – April - May 

Grade 9 – May - June  

Please ensure all items are labeled with your child’s name and homeroom number. All items are to be directly submitted to Mr. Lee.
