With Calgary’s current weather, it is very hard to believe that it is already September. RTA staff and students are definitely taking advantage of the warm sunshine as much as possible, bringing the learning outside. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

First Fire Drill of 2024-25 School Year:

• Given the amazing weather, we decided to get an early start on our very first fire drill practice of the new school year. A huge congratulations to the amazing RTA students and staff for such a smooth, organized and well-executed practice!

Southland Transportation:

• As Southland Transportation drops off RTA students across from Maple Ridge School in the mornings (the same location as evening pick up), families may now drop off students across from the school in the AM. 
• Families should not be using the Staff Parking Lot to drop off students, unless they are accessing accessible parking.

Meet the Teacher – SAVE THE DATE!

• RTA’s Meet the Teacher is on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 6:00 – 7:15 PM
• Each HR Team will provide two identical informational presentations (allowing families with multiple students to meet with both grade teams):
• • Presentation #1 6:10 – 6:40 PM
  • Presentation #2 6:45 – 7:15 PM
• Each presentation is 30 minutes long
• Following the Meet the Teacher, grade 9 families are encouraged to attend an optional High School Information Session in the Gym with Ms. Lewis and Ms. Armitage at 7:20 – 8:20 PM
• Meet the Teacher is not an opportunity to have a one-on-one meeting with your child’s teachers. (Given that most teachers teach 60-70 students in middle school, teachers need an opportunity to get to know your child.)
