RTA Soccer Season:

• Congratulations to both our Girls’ and Boys’ Soccer Teams for an outstanding season! Their hard work, dedication, and team spirit have truly shone through, and we could not be prouder of their accomplishments.
• Thank you to the coaches, families, and supporters who cheered them on every step of the way!

Hindu Heritage Month:

• ​Namaste! November is recognized across Canada as Hindu Heritage Month, which is a time to honour the rich traditions, culture, and contributions of the Hindu community in Canada. 
• In Alberta, it is recognized in the month of August. With close to 830,000 persons identifying as part of the Hindu community in Canada, this is a time to learn about the significant role they have had in shaping the nation's multicultural identity. 
• This is a time to celebrate and recognize the contributions across the economy, culture, arts, politics, vitality of the Canadian Hindu community and celebrating the mosaic of cultures that enrich the nation.  

RTA Vision Statement:

• Over the past year, our team, led by Mr. Stranzinger and Mr. Lee, has dedicated time and effort to developing a vision statement that truly reflects our values and vision as a science-focused alternative middle school. This mission will guide our efforts in creating an enriching and supportive learning environment, and we are excited to share it with you, as we continue fostering a community grounded in curiosity, exploration, and academic excellence.
• RTA’s Mission Statement: “To create an inclusive and interdisciplinary science community that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and environmental stewardship.”

RTA Halloween Dance | October 31, 2024:

• Join us for a spooktacular in-school Halloween dance on Thursday, October 31^st!
• Come dressed in your best costume and dance the afternoon away with friends. The Grade 5 and 6 dance will be from 1:25-2:25 PM. The 7-9 dance will be from 2:30 – 3:30 PM.
• We are asking for a donation of non-perishable food items, which will go to support our local food bank. Let’s celebrate Halloween while giving back to our community—one can at a time!
• Not in the mood to dance? No problem! We will have a games set up in the library and classrooms for you to enjoy.

Grade 9 Bake Sale | October 31, 2024:

• The Grade 9s will be having a bake sale to raise funds for the Grade 9 Graduation.
• Come by at lunch and grab some delicious treats—cookies, cake and popcorn balls!

RTA Athletics Apparel: 

• While we patiently await next weeks hopeful arrival of our September clothing order, there is an awesome (and completely optional) opportunity for your child to order RTA athletic/team specific apparel, with a quick turn-around time of about 1.5 weeks from the stores closing date.
• Athletics and Wrestling items are currently available on the store with Athletics closing on Nov. 3^rd and Wrestling closing Nov. 17th.
• Volleyball, Badminton, and Track and Field items will be added to the store as that specific sport’s start day approaches.
• These items require a minimum purchase of 12 units per sport; Ms. Braben will reach out to families if their ordered item is low in demand.

• To help with crowd control and supervision in each of the school gyms, the Division expectation has been set out that all students wishing to attend games, as a fan, not at their own gym, must be under parental supervision, or will not be granted access into the building to watch.
