Good evening, Ravens,
As we head into fall break, I want to extend my gratitude to all the parents who joined us at Wednesday’s School Council meeting and engaged in the important conversation regarding supporting and fostering inclusion at RTA. I look forward to continuing this meaningful work together as a community. I would also like to recognize everyone who contributed to making our Remembrance Day assemblies so memorable, including our outstanding MCs, student readers, talented band and hand bell students, the tech committee, and Mr. Lee and his student artists for their beautiful contributions. A special thanks as well to the Eco Club for organizing our first litter-less lunch of the year!
CBE System Indigenous Education Professional Learning Day:
- All CBE staff, regardless of role, participated in a day of learning today, as a collective, developing foundational knowledge of Indigenous ways of being, belonging, doing and knowing.
- As a learning organization, we are committed to acknowledging and responding to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action, which includes providing Indigenous Education professional learning for all staff (Call to Action #57).
- This year, we dedicated to deepening our understanding of the Heart Domain -To Belong as we work together to implement the CBE Indigenous Education Holistic Lifelong Learning Framework across the system.
Indigenous Veterans’ Day | November 8, 2024:
- November 8 is Indigenous Veterans’ Day; it is a day to reflect and remember the contributions and sacrifices made by First Nations, Metis, and Inuit people in service to Canada.
