Good afternoon, Raven families,
Wishing all of our families a wonderful Father’s Day week! After an amazing three days at Camp Chief Hector Outdoor School with our Grade 5s—filled with shelter building, eco games, outdoor and indoor adventures, campfire songs, a toad discovery, and countless stories – I am looking forward to catching up on some much-needed sleep! Thank you to both the teachers and students who helped make it such a memorable experience.
Provincial Achievement Tests and Final Exams:
· As we head into PATs and final exams, your support at home can make a big difference. Encouraging consistent study habits, creating a quiet space for review, and helping your child manage time and stress all contribute to a more confident and prepared learner. A good night’s sleep, healthy meals, and positive encouragement go a long way too. While these assessments provide valuable information about student learning, they represent only one aspect of a student’s overall development, which also includes critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and personal growth. Thank you for working together with us to help students finish the year strong!
Celebrating the RTA Spring Band Concert:
· What a fantastic evening of music and community! Our Second Annual RTA Spring Band Concert was a great success, with a strong turnout of supportive families filling the gym with enthusiasm and pride.
· Each grade level performed two pieces, show-casing their growth, dedication, and teamwork throughout the year.
· The evening was thoughtfully organized, with a smooth rotation of parents between each grade performance—allowing every student to shine with their audience present.
· A special shout out goes to our two Grade 9 MCs, who brought energy, confidence, and a touch of fun to the evening.
· Thank you to our incredible band teacher, Ms. Gray for her leadership, and to all of our students for the heart and hard work they put into their music. It was truly a night to remember!
Ravens Track and Field:
· We’re proud to share that RTA placed 3rd overall on track and field day among all the schools that participated. Many of the athletes also demonstrated exceptional results within their event with 14 total 1st places, 9 total 2nd places, and 13 total 3rd places.
· We’d also like to invite all Track and Field athletes to our season wrap-up party on Tuesday, June 17th. To celebrate the athletes, the coaches will be hosting a lunch inside the health room, where Pizza and Drinks will be provided. Students are welcome to come pick up a slice and return to their regular classrooms during lunchtime.
· Please remember to wash and return your athlete's track and field jersey by the celebration day! Missing or unreturned jerseys can incur a $50 fee.
· Finally, please ensure that all fees have been paid on MyCBE relating to any outstanding payments.
· Thank you for your support. We look forward to celebrating together! – Mr. Tschritter
