Good evening, RTA Raven Families,

As the weather begins to warm up here in Calgary, we would like to wish all our families a wonderful weekend ahead. It has been great to have students back in the building, settled into routines and fully engaged - especially as many are diving into Science Fair preparations with enthusiasm and curiosity.

We are also excited to share that the painting of the school is nearing completion, and we cannot wait to show off the beautiful new murals in the library and gym. With these projects wrapping up, we are  thrilled to turn our attention back to our bulletin boards and begin showcasing the incredible learning and creativity happening in our classrooms through student work.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Enjoy the sunshine and have a great weekend.

Lunchtime and Off Campus

  • At lunchtime, students in grades 7, 8 and 9 are welcome to remain in their classrooms to eat lunch from 12:05 until 12:25 PM.
  • On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, students in grades 8 and 9, and on Thursdays, students in grade 7 may go off campus during this time if they wish.  However, if they choose to leave the school during this time, students must remain outside.  There will be no “in and out” opportunities.
  • Once students have finished eating, all grades 7, 8 and 9 students will be expected to be outside beginning at 12:25 PM. Given the fluctuations in temperatures, students are reminded to bring appropriate clothing to be outside.
  • In addition to this, students are reminded they are not permitted to be in the following areas during the lunch period.
    • The playground at Maple Ridge School
    • The Willow Park Community Center - this includes the Gaga ball pit, hockey rink, skating pathway and parking lot
  • Should students be found in these areas during the lunch period, they will lose their off-campus privileges.
