Happy Friday, RTA Ravens,
Wishing our families a wonderful and restful weekend! We had a very busy and exciting week filled with volleyball games and practices, field experiences, our first practice lockdown, the RTA Science Fair, the RTA Celebration of Learning, and our Open House. The creativity, hard work, and engagement on display at the Science Fair made it a true highlight and a wonderful celebration of student learning.
Teachers are spending this Friday engaged in professional development, connecting with colleagues from across the city, as we continue to strengthen our practice together. We are so proud of all that was accomplished this week and grateful for your continued support. We hope you enjoy a well-deserved break!
Traffic Safety:
- As a reminder to families, we ask for your support in helping keep our school community safe during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. Please note that the staff parking lot is not available for family use at any time and should not be used for student drop-off or pick-up.
- We have also noticed an increase in U-turns in front of the school. These maneuvers can be dangerous and contribute to traffic congestion, especially during our busiest times of the day. We kindly ask families to follow posted signage, use designated drop-off areas, and plan routes that allow for safe and legal turns.
- Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in keeping our students, families, and staff safe each day.

Grade 7 CTF Fashion:
- Donations - Our Grade 7 Fashion students are exploring sustainable fashion and doing a variety of projects with fabric that might otherwise be at the end of its life. For our next project, we will be making pajama pants and are looking for donations of flat or fitted bed sheets in good condition! We are also doing visible mending and looking for clothing with holes or stains that we can fix/cover. Donations can be brought to Rm 25. Thank you for supporting student learning!
- Volunteers - We are looking for support in CTF Fashion for hand sewing (visible mending) and sewing machines (making pajama pants). Help is requested for Period 1 and Period 6 on alternating weeks, starting the week of January 26. If you are available to help out our Fashion 7 students with building their sewing skills and completing their projects, please reach out to Ms. Shuffler (Madelyn) at mashuffler@cbe.ab.ca
