Good afternoon, Raven Families,

Heading into the weekend, there is so much to celebrate with all the exciting things happening around the school! Badminton tryouts continue next week—best of luck to all our athletes. Chess Club is opening up to Grades 5–7 starting Tuesday, and students who are interested in developing their skills are encouraged to bring a friend. Our Grade 9 Leadership team has been working hard to organize a fun dance and games day for Grades 7–9, at the end of April, along with something special in the works for our Grade 5 and 6 students—stay tuned. Meanwhile, students are putting the final touches on their science fair projects in preparation for next week’s Calgary Youth Science Fair; and I am looking forward to seeing their incredible work on display at the University of Calgary. Wishing everyone a restful and joyful weekend!

 Girls Talk Tech Panel:

  • We are excited to share that a panel from ConocoPhillips recently visited our school to speak with our Grade 7-9 students about careers in IT and STEM! The panelists shared their career experiences, answered student questions about college and career paths, and inspired some fantastic discussions.
  • Our students were highly engaged, asking insightful questions—and their curiosity paid off! Many won prizes, and everyone enjoyed a pizza treat to celebrate this special event.
  • This type of real-world connection is invaluable for our students, and we are grateful to ConocoPhillips for taking the time to share their expertise.

Earth Day: April 22, 2025

  • The theme for Earth Day 2025 is Our Power, Our Planet, inviting everyone around the globe to unite behind renewable energy, and to triple the global generation of clean electricity by 2030.
  • Throughout Earth Week, students will take part in classroom discussions, hands-on projects, and outdoor clean-up activities focused on protecting our planet.
  • Earth Week is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn how their actions can make a positive impact on the environment.
  • We encourage families to join us in celebrating Earth Day at home—whether it is by reducing waste, turning off lights, or spending time in nature together. Every small action counts!
  • Thank you for your continued support in helping our students become responsible global citizens.
